Man shot to death in Himamaylan City

A LABORER was shot to death by two unidentified assailants at Sitio Casipongan, Barangay Carabalan, Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental Monday afternoon, June 24, 2025.

Records from the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Nocppo) showed that the victim, a 36-year-old male and resident of Barangay Carabalan, was standing outside a cockfighting arena when two unidentified armed men fired at him several times around 2:45 p.m.

The victim sustained a gunshot wound to the neck and fell to the ground.

Police said one of the suspects approached the victim and fired at him again, hitting his forehead and right temple, before fleeing.

Recovered from the crime scene were two fired cartridge cases of a 9mm pistol and one fired cartridge case of a .45 caliber pistol.

The victim was brought to Governor Valeriano M. Gatuslao Memorial Hospital but did not survive.

The Himamaylan City Police Station is conducting a thorough investigation to determine the motive and the identities of the suspects, who remain at large. (MAP)
