
One Silay prevailed over Lingayen, 21-25, 20-25, 25-17, 25-13, 15-12, on Friday to secure a semifinal berth in the Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) Under-21 Championship National Men’s Division at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.
The team from Negros Occidental finished the preliminary round with a 2-1 record in Group A after pulling off a 25-22, 25-23, 22-25, 32-30 upset win over Volleyball Never Stop (VNS) Club on opening day, before losing to Zamboanga City, 22-25, 21-25, 21-15, on Thursday.
Lingayen, a 25-21, 20-25, 25-23, 25-23 winner over VNS, suffered its second loss.
Joining One Silay in the next round is Zamboanga City, which has a 2-0 card.
Meanwhile, University of the East also made it to the Final Four with a 2-0 record in Group B.
UE triumphed over City of Naga-Cebu Volleyball Club, 25-12, 25-17, 23-25, 25-17, and University of Umingan Volleyball Club, 25-22, 25-15, 25-14.
The classification phase (No. 5 to 8 places) will be played on Saturday at 9 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. while the semifinal matches will be at 2 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.
