Over P1M shabu seized in Bacolod
THE Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) Drug Enforcement Unit seized an estimated P1.836 million worth of shabu in a drug bust in Purok Manayawsayaw, Barangay Mansilingan, Bacolod City on Monday, April 28, 2025.
The operation led to the arrest of Alias “Toto,” 40, and Alias “Totong,” 48, both residents of the said village.
BCPO records showed the suspects were caught by operatives after selling a sachet of shabu to an undercover agent.
Police recovered from the suspects’ possession seven heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets and three knot-tied transparent plastic bags containing shabu, P1,000 marked money, and other non-drug items.
The suspects, who are identified as high-level drug personalities in Bacolod City, were under surveillance for almost a month before their arrest.
The suspects were detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 7. They will be charged with violation of Sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Meanwhile, a 33-year-old man was arrested by operatives of Police Station 1 for violating the Commission on Elections (Comelec) gun ban and grave threat in Purok Magsungay, Barangay Singcang-Airport, on Monday, April 28.
Police identified the suspect as Alias “Nino,” a resident of Barangay Taculing, Bacolod City.
BCPO records revealed that the operatives of Police Station 1 were about to conduct a drug bust operation in the area, but the suspect fired at them and fled.
The suspect was arrested in follow-up operation in Barangay Singcang-Airport.
Police recovered from Nino’s possession one .45 caliber revolver with magazine containing seven live ammunitions.
The police said the suspect was also arrested in 2019 for violation of illegal drugs.
The suspect was detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 8. He will be charged with violation of Republic Act (RA) 10591, the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, and RA 7166, the election gun ban. (MAP)
