Over P300,000 shabu seized in Bacolod

THE Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) seized an estimated P340,000 worth of substance believed to be shabu in a drug bust along Magsaysay Avenue, Barangay Taculing, Bacolod City, at 3:42 a.m. Sunday, July 6, 2025.

The operation also led to the arrest of alias "Odick," 41, a resident of Barangay 14; and alias "Jomari," 41, a resident of Barangay Taculing, Bacolod City.

BCPO records showed that the suspects were arrested by operatives of the City Drugs Enforcement Unit (CDEU) after selling a sachet of shabu to a poseur buyer.

Police recovered from the suspects’ possession several sachets of shabu weighing 50 grams, and the marked money.

The suspect is currently detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 6. They will be charged with violating Sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Colonel Joeresty Coronica, BCPO director, also lauded the accomplishment of the CDEU.

Coronica said this successful operation highlights the unwavering commitment of BCPO in its relentless fight against illegal drugs and in safeguarding the communities of Bacolod City. (MAP)
