ALICANTE, Spain -- Detroit Pistons rookie and former Duke standout Kyle Singler has signed a contract to play for Spanish basketball club Lucentum Alicante next season if the NBA lockout continues.

Alicante announced the deal on its website Tuesday. It said the American player, who helped lead Duke to the NCAA championship in 2010, has a get-out clause that allows him to return to the NBA if the lockout is lifted.

The 23-year-old forward was taken 33rd overall by the Pistons in this summer's draft.
