THE Ilog Municipal Police Station is eyeing personal grudges as a possible motive in the killing of a 23-year-old man in Sitio Km. 113, Barangay Dancalan, Ilog, Negros Occidental, who was abducted along with his cousin in Barangay Binicuil, Kabankalan City Tuesday, May 27, 2025.
Police identified the fatality as alias "Kurt," while his cousin, alias "Mik," survived the abduction. Both are residents of Talisay City.
Major Randy Babor, Ilog Municipal Police Station chief, said Kurt and Mik were on board a bus from Bacolod City toward Kabankalan City Tuesday afternoon.
Upon arriving at Kabankalan City proper, he said they were abducted by five unidentified men who forced them into a white van.
He added that both of their hands were tied behind their backs with a cable wire, and they were taken to Barangay Dancalan in Ilog, where they were dragged out of the van.
One of the suspects shot Kurt in the head, killing him instantly, then ordered Mik to run and shot him. Luckily, he was not hit by a bullet and managed to escape, Babor said.
He said Mik sought assistance from residents in the area while the suspects fled towards the north direction of Ilog town.
Police already identified one of the suspects, who served as the mastermind in the killing of Kurt.
Babor said it was well-planned and they were entrapped by the suspects in Kabankalan City.
He said they found out that the victims have a previous transaction with the suspects.
Babor added that they are now preparing murder and attempted murder complaints to be filed against the suspects. (MAP)
