TO EASE financial burdens for Filipino households, Primelectric Holdings Inc. (PHI), through its distribution subsidiaries Negros Power, More Power, and Bohol Light, announced substantial electricity rate reductions for the month of June 2025.

Roel Castro, president and CEO of Primelectric Holdings Inc., said in a statement that these private utilities continue to deliver on their promise of providing affordable, reliable, and efficient power, bringing meaningful relief to families at a time when school-related expenses are top of mind.

He said that in the area of Iloilo City, More Power electricity rates have dropped by P0.61 per kilowatt-hour (kWh), a significant decrease from P11.12 to P10.52 per kWh, adding that the household consuming 200 kWh per month could save around P122.

In the area of Negros Occidental, Negros Power electricity rates also dropped P0.55 per kWh, from P11.69 to P11.14 per kWh.

Castro said the consumers will have a savings of at least P110.

For Bohol Light, Tagbilaran City, he said consumers enjoy the largest cut of P0.75 per kWh, with rates down from P11.07 to P10.32 per kWh, adding that families using 200 kWh will save approximately P150 this month.

Castro noted that these rate drops are primarily due to strategic energy trading at the Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM) and lower transmission charges, thanks to reduced Ancillary Services and Reserve Market costs.

As a result, Cabrera said More Power, Negros Power, and Bohol Light now maintain the lowest residential power rates in their respective regions.

“These rate reductions reflect our commitment to manage power supply strategically, optimize market opportunities, and pass the savings directly to our consumers,” Castro said.

He said they understand the economic pressures faced by households, especially during times like school enrollment season.

“Every peso saved on electricity is a peso that can go toward food, education, or essentials, and we are proud to help make that possible,” he added.

Castro said they will continue investing in infrastructure upgrades, system loss reduction programs, and smart market participation
