BACOLOD Tay Tung High School Thunderbolts and the University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos (UNO-R) Rams triumphed in separate 3X3 basketball tournaments over the weekend.
Thunderbolts will represent Western Visayas in the 3X3 Wilson Basketball Challenge in Manila after ruling the 13 and under division played at Trinity Christian School.
The Atoy Callora Jr.-mentored squad include John Ordas, Johnray Castiller, Dylan Despi and Marvin delos Santos, all part of the silver medalist team last Palarong Pambansa in Ilocos.
The UNO-R side will play for born 2002 boys and girls division in the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) 3X3 Regional Finals in Iloilo this September 29 to 30.
The team is composed of Kiara Mejica, Charity Gicana and Lynette Desendaio.
Last year, Bacolod also represented the region in the national finals. (HGD)
