Bago City, La Salle in Governors’ Cup finals

BAGO City FC and the University of St. La Salle set up a championship battle in the Negros First- Negros Occidental Football Association Youth Provincial Football Championship this coming weekend after pulling huge wins on Saturday, September 29, at the Ceres FC North Field in Talisay City.

La Salle won 5-3 after registering a huge 3-0 blast in the first half behind Joshua Limco in the 10th and 40th minutes and Joshua Alones. Limco made it 4-nil before Sagay City’s Rondero Rodriguez finally found the back of the net in the 43rd minute. Limco has another in the 49th minute to restore its two-goal advantage.

Ryan Monares scored a brace in the 70th and 76th minutes but were not enough to steal the spotlight.

Sagay City’s aggressive plays in the latter part of the match resulted to massive goal chances but were unable to finish wasting numerous opportunities.

Bago City FC rode to their early 2-0 lead and finally pulled away from Villa Angela FC, 3-2.

This football undertaking is part of the province’s sports program in cooperation with the Negros Occidental Football Association. (HGD)
