Nopsscea men’s team rule WVPRISAA badminton tilt

DESPITE the tough challenge, this season, the Negros Occidental Private Schools Sports, Cultural, and Education Association (Nopsscea) men’s badminton team captured the gold medal in the recently staged Western Visayas Prisaa competition held in Roxas City, Capiz.

The Carlos Benedict Hojilla-mentored Negrense shuttled won the gold in the men’s team event behind its University of St. La Salle players Earl Joseph Carballo, Elleo John Pagayon, Harvey John Polidario, and Dennis Grancho Jr., and North Negros College’s Clifford Nicor.

Nicor also won the gold medal in the men’s singles as Polidario finished bronze while the tandem of Pagayon and Carballo dominated the men’s doubles.

Meanwhile, Desirie Joy Hojilla’s women’s team also finished strong in the tournament with her team settled silver in the team event behind Cheska Kaye Lomugdang, Ann Lorraine Cario, Lizette Quinal and Pretzel Giana Ong.

For the individual event, Lumogdang reigned the women’s singles as Cario finished bronze while the team of Ong and Quinal finished silver in the women’s doubles.

On the other hand, Iloprisaa bannered by Jornellous Castro-coached Iloilo Doctor’s College ruled the women’s division behind Bago City’s Lopez siblings Danielle Grace and Pamela, Sabrina Layson, Dianne Bolilan, and Elaine Fajartin.

Meanwhile, Carlos Hojilla thanked USLS as well as the North Negros College, Nopsscea, Cadiz Jaguars of Jordan Sun and all who supported the needs of the team.
