NEGRENSE pride Jay-r Raquinel, 22, of Cauayan town extended his winning streak to 12 wins, a loss, and a draw after an opening-round stoppage against Indonesian veteran Jack Amisa Friday night at the Caesars Palace in Dubai.

Raquinel did not give Amisa any chance to set form when he successfully landed a right-left straight combination in just 7 seconds to secure his 9th knockout victory.

With the win, the Negrense fighter now aims to fight for the World Boxing Council World Title Eliminator.

“I am thankful to everyone who prayed for my victory. To my family, friends and my team, it was a great win and I praise God for this gift,” he said.

This is Raquinel’s second triumph this year after winning over Takuya Kogawa last August in Korakuen Hall in Japan for the Oriental Pacific Boxing Federation flyweight title.
