A SUSPECTED theft was shot to death in Chariza 1, Barangay 27, Bacolod City on Thursday evening, May 15, 2025.

Police identified the fatality as alias “Cesar,” a resident of Barangay Handumanan, Bacolod City.

Major Elmer Bonilla, chief of Police Station 4, said the victim was creating a scene along Chariza 1 when three unidentified men tried to stop him, resulting in a fistfight.

He said the victim managed to run, but the suspects chased him and fired at him.

The victim sustained gunshot wound on his head and died on the spot.

Bonilla said they failed to recover any cartridges of the firearm used in the killing of the victim, but they recovered a sachet of shabu from Cesar’s possession.

Investigation revealed that the victim was involved in theft incident in Libertad Public Market where his video was posted on social media.

Aside from theft, Bonilla said Cesar was also involved in illegal gambling activity in Bacolod.

He said they already identified the identity of the gunman and they are still conducting a thorough investigation to determine the identity of his two companions.

Bonilla said they are still waiting for the family of the victim to file the murder complaint against the suspects. (MAP)
