On February 6, Talisay City Vice Mayor Nic Jalandoni personally delivered 57 mattresses to the families displaced by the recent fire in Purok Pasil, Zone 5, Talisay City. The turnover took place at the Talisay City Gym, which is currently serving as a permanent evacuation center for those affected by the disaster.

The mattresses were provided to ensure the comfort and well-being of the evacuees and play a crucial role in the city's ongoing efforts to support the families as they recover from the devastation.

In addition to the mattresses, Vice Mayor Jalandoni also presented “kawayan” (bamboo) items to aid in the rebuilding process for the affected families. These bamboo items, symbolic of resilience and local craftsmanship, reflect the city’s commitment to assisting residents as they rebuild their homes and lives.

Vice Mayor Jalandoni reassured the families of the local government’s continued support, promising that assistance would remain available in the weeks ahead as recovery efforts move forward.

This event underscores the ongoing collaboration between local government officials, community leaders, and residents in addressing the immediate needs of fire victims, with plans for additional support and recovery initiatives.
