Typhoon Tino enters PAR

MANILA - The typhoon east of extreme Luzon has entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Monday and was named 'Tino,' the third cyclone to visit the country this month and the 20th this year.

At 10 a.m. Monday, the eye of Typhoon Tino was located at 1,210 kilometers (km) east northeast of Basco, Batanes, said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Administration (Pagasa).

Tino has a maximum sustained winds of 160 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 195 kph. It is forecast to move north northwest at 20 kph.
