The 2019 Matagoan Festival

A FESTIVAL has shaped the thriving city of Tabuk.

The 18th Matagoan festival is getting bigger every year with more participants and events giving life to the province capital.

“Matagoan” means Life Giving and this year, an enhanced street dance parade competition called on street dancing contingents from all over the country to join the annual celebration, themed “Rang-ay ken Balligi, Rambak ti Umili,” in celebration of the city’s founding anniversary.

The festival hailed the Balatong festival presentation of San Mateo, Isabela as grand champions besting other contingents in the Enhanced Cultural and Field Dance Competition 2019: Invitational Battle of the Champions.

Second place went to was defending champions of the Matagoan in 2018, the Tribu Ari-Tau troupe from Aritao Nueva Viscaya with a presentation of the Bummayah festival while 3rd place went to the municipality of Rizal in Kalinga with thier performance of their Pinikpikan festival with the Rizal National High School of Arts and Trade.

Participant finalists included the Santigao city grand champions of the balamban festival, Kalinga National High School Tabuk City- the KNHS dance troupe with their entry; Matagoan Festival. The tabuk city high SPA dance with thier entry, Bolog di Tabukeno. The San Carlos city dance troupe with the Mango bamboo festival. Western Wonders Bamboo Ensemble from Tabuk City with their entry; Dupag Bamboo Festival and the Western Tam Awan Cultural dancers from tabuk city with thier entry; Harvest festival.
