THE Rotary Club of Baguio Summer Capital (RCBSC) joins in the global celebration of the World Polio Day 2020 that was held last October 24. Yes, we are 99.9 percent close to ending Polio worldwide! Collectively, every Rotary Club’s act of kindness will surely bring into fruition a Polio Free World. Indeed, all we need is LOVE!

The RCBSC donates to the RI End Polio Now fund by creating and participating in institutionalized Rotary activities that are enjoyable for everyone such as “The World’s Greatest Meal to Help End Polio” and the “99.9 Piso Para sa Polio”, Tulong sa Pagsugpo sa Polio”. Food, fun and fundraising, the World’s Greatest Meal funding initiative is the joint project of the RC of Cairns Sunrise, District D9550, Australia and the RC of Hounslow, District 1140, England. Rotarians PDG Mukesh Malhotra and PP Susanne Rea set up this idea to help End Polio worldwide. “As of October 30, there are 6,793 World’s Greatest Meals registered in 83 countries with 403,709 participants. With a 2 to 1 match from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation of $ 3,720,295 to $11,160,886.00. The time left to reach the target of 12 Million USD by December 31, 2020, is 62 days, for the RI End Polio Program.” Meantime, the RCBSC’s “99.9 Piso Para sa Polio, Tulong sa Pagsugpo sa Polio” was held at the children’s bike lane at Burnham Park. Special thanks to Jaycees Cons Albayalde, Gwen Dizon and Eric Cid. Program Chair was RCBSC PE Steve Cating.

Likewise, the RCBSC continues its series of rice donation to the staff, caddies, maintenance and security personnel of Pinewoods Golf and Country Club. This was held last October 27. Also in attendance were RI District 3790 Governor Jess Sama, AG Larry Apostol, District Secretary Vanessa Bango, and Executive Secretary Agerico Rodriguez. There were 80 sacks of 10 kg rice given away and sponsored by RI Districts 3730 and 3790. Program Chair was RCBSC Rtn. Rudy Hulog. Photos by Osharé. Tolitz Villanueva (tolitz69glock@yahoo.com).
