ELEVEN personnel of the Police Regional Office (PRO)-Cordillera are infected with the novel coronavirus.

Police Brigadier General R’win Pagkalinawan, PRO-Cordillera regional director, said appropriate health measures to ensure the prevention of Covid-19 infection among its ranks will be instituted with all the necessary support provided for personnel.

As of June 18, PRO-Cordillera said most of the Covid-19 cases are from Benguet with 10 and from Apayao province with one.

“They are all asymptomatic and we will help with their PhilHealth (Philippine Health Insurance Corporation) claim. My last directive is for exhaust fans to be installed in all their offices and configure police vehicles to observe the minimum health standards,” Pagkalinawan said.

Since the start of the Luzon-wide enhanced community quarantine, PRO-Cordillera established its isolation facility at Camp Bado Dangwa to tend to the needs of police personnel who may be affected by the coronavirus.

Based on the national data of the Philippine National Police as of June 15, there are 415 confirmed cases nationwide with 884 under suspect cases, 723 under probable cases, 241 recoveries and seven deaths.
