3 collared for fake travel documents

THREE individuals were arrested over the week for faking their documents in entering Baguio City.

Police collared on October 30 Paul Francis Mallari Ong, 42, and Sheryl Paque Ong, 39, both residents of Mabalacat, Pampanga.

The two were onboard their vehicle and passed through the quarantine checkpoint (QCP) on Naguillian Road, Irisan where they were flagged down for travel documents verification.

The couple allegedly failed to present the original copies of their documents, prompting police officers to call the source of the documents for verification.

Anna Criselda Mendiola, medical technologist of Jose Lingad Memorial General Hospital (JLMGH) in Pampanga, confirmed that their names were not registered with the hospital.

Police Lieutenant Arrizabal, QCP team leader, confronted the couple about the documents they presented.

The two admitted their documents were fake and forged.

On October 31, Jayson Legaspi Pangilinan, 31, and resident of Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija, was also arrested for the same violation.

Onboard his vehicle, he passed through the QCP along Naguillian Road and failed to present the original copies of his documents.

Police contacted Victor Francis Fos, nurse from the City Health Office of Cabanatuan City, and confirmed that he has no record and did not issue any medical certificate to Pangilinan.

Members of the QCP also called Krista Martin, laboratory assistance of Cardinal Santos Medical Center and denied issuing any results to Pangilinan.

The three were charged for violating Republic Act 11332 (Mandatory Reporting of Notifiable Diseases and Health Events of Public Health Concern Act).
