5 Abreñeans repatriated from Kuwait

BANGUED, Abra -- The Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) Center of the Provincial Government of Abra had confirmed that there are at least five Abreñean OFWs from Kuwait who were included in the recent mass repatriation that was carried out by the National Government.

OFW center coordinator, Fredelyn Beato, said the repatriated OFWs will be granted livelihood assistance from the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) in the amount of P20,000.00 as seed capital for the initial operation of their business to start a new life.

Beato advised the repatriated OFWs who have sought financial assistance from government to be more patient as it would take three to six months to process their application and for the release of the livelihood funds from the OWWA.

The repatriated OFWs have finally decided not to go back to the Middle East again because of the maltreatment they have experienced from their abusive employers there. (PIA–CAR)
