WHILE working for the Philippine National Police (PNP) for over a decade, 34-year-old Staff Sergeant June Diwag reached another milestone in his life, he is now a lawyer.

Diwag is one of the 2,103 or 27.36 percent who passed the 2019 Bar Exam released by the Supreme Court last week.

A native of Kapangan town in Benguet, Diwag finished his Bachelor’s Degree in Criminology at the University of the Cordilleras (UC) in 2005 and joined the PNP in 2007.

He was first assigned in Metro Manila where he served for five years before being transferred to the Baguio City Police Office (BCPO) in 2012.

Diwag is currently working in the Investigation and Detection Management Unit and while working in the police force, Diwag graduated Law school in 2019, also in UC.

“Being a law enforcer also entails having knowledge of the law,” says the cop turned lawyer.

Diwag said he challenged himself to further his studies to protect his family and for career advancement.

While enjoying his triumph, Diwag continues to work as the PNP is on high alert amid the Covid - 19 pandemic.

When asked about his future plans Diwag said, “I will still stay here in the PNP and continue to serve the people.”
