Benguet tanods undergo seminar

CAMP DANGWA -- Force multipliers including Barangay Peace Keeping Action Team (Bpat) continue its partnership with the Philippine National Police in Benguet province.

Benguet Provincial Police Senior Superintendent Lyndon Mencio cited the unrelenting partnership and collaborative effort of Benguet PNP, local government officials, Napolcom Benguet and other stakeholders.

As frontlines in the field, police officers continuous trainings and seminars with members of the Bpats as force multipliers of the PNP is significant in national building and for the protection of life and property.

From December 3 to 14, Benguet police conducted a seminar on community and service oriented policing, anti-illegal drugs and insurgency for Bpat members.

The seminar also aims to sustain and further strengthen the convergence of Benguet police and the Benguet provincial government for the improvement of the provincial police force plans, programs and activities in the 13 municipal police stations.

Mencio said the seminar aim to develop BPATS and PNP the knowledge and skills on the different modus of lawless elements, updates on jurisprudence and amendments of the peace and order agenda of the PNP in the fight against criminality, illegal drugs and insurgency.

As culmination and application of what was learned in the seminar on December 14, a BPat Olympics was held in Benguet State University gym Loo, Buguias.

All representatives from Bpats showcased their skills in intervention techniques, self-defense, and disaster preparedness.

Funds for the said activity come from the Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council headed by Padac chair and Governor Crescencio Pacalso.
