HEEDING the advice of a feng shiu expert, Association of Barangay Captains and Baguio City Councilor Michael Lee Lawana filed his candidacy for the vice mayoralty race together with Councilor Leandro Yangot.

Yangot is set to vie for the city’s mayoralty post who will file on the 17th of October as advised by the Feng Shui expert.

“Kinuha niya ang aking birthdate and zodiac sign ko, ang advise nya magfile daw ako sa 17, iyon ang lucky day ko. So wala namang mawawala kung susundin iyon. So I am following the advice na ngayon sa Feng Shui iyon ang lucky day,” said Yangot.

(He took my birthdate and zodiac sign and advised me to file on the 17th because it was my lucky day. I guess, there is nothing wrong with it if you follow it. So now I am following the advice of the Feng Shui that it is my lucky day)

Yangot added for Lawana, Feng Shui experts declared his lucky day to be October 15.

Yangot will be up against city mayor bets Jose Molintas who will run under the Liberal Party and Vice Mayor Edison Bilog under the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino.

Lawana is up against incumbent Councilor Faustino Atiwag Olowan running as vice mayor.

Former City Mayor Reynaldo Bautista and Incumbent Mayor Mauricio Domogan are also expected to file their certificates of candidacy (COC) in the coming days.

With the low turnout of the filing of COC in Benguet last week, Mankayan Mayor Materno Luspian led the early registrants for Benguet at the Comelec.

Completing his fifth term as mayor, Luspian will be gunning for the province’s lone congressional post.

Luspian will be bannering the Lakas CMD party with incumbent Vice Governor Florence Tingbaoen seeking for her second term as Benguet Vice-Governor.

Former Benguet Governor Nelson Fongwan Sr. is expected to file his COC as lone district representative of Benguet.

Incumbent Provincial Board Member Juan Nazarro Jr. and former DOTr regional director Attorney Roberto Basco who filed their COCs last week will be seeking a seat at the Provincial Board.

COC filing has been set October 11, 12, 15, 16 and 17 starting at 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Lauren Alimondo)
