Motorcycle owners warned anew

THE Police Regional Office-Cordillera continues to remind motorcycle owners to secure their vehicles and not be victimized by syndicates.

This following a motornapping incident occurred recently in Batlong Street, Sitio Santa Pukaw, Barangay Poblacion, Kabugao, Apayao wherein a Honda XRM motorcycle without license plate, and registered to Marcial Diza Patayan, 37 years old, married, watchman of Kabugao and a resident at the area, was stolen.

The motorcycle was later recovered in the afternoon of November 8 from Marco Juan Antonio, 21, single, farmer, and a resident of Barangay Karagawan, Kabugao, Apayao.

Investigation showed Patayan parked his motorcycle unattended in front of their house but upon waking up in morning, he discovered his motorcycle was missing but assumed it was borrowed by his relatives.

Patayan decided not to report the incident to the police until the afternoon of November 8 when he sought the assistance to Kabugao Municipal Police Station (MPS) after receiving information his missing motorcycle was sighted along the road at Barangay Badduat going to Barangay Karagawan, Kabugao, Apayao.

Personnel of Kabugao MPS together with the victim proceeded immediately at Barangay Karagawan, Kabugao, Apayao and spotted the motorcycle under the possession and control of Antonio.

The suspect and the recovered motorcycle were brought to Kabugao MPS for safekeeping and documentation.
