P100,000 shabu confiscated in Baguio

THREE suspected drug pushers were collared in separate buy-bust operations, confiscating more than P100,000 worth of shabu.

Anti-narcotics agents arrested Patrick Roger Catbagan, an alleged drug runner, and his girlfriend, "Maryjane," a bar entertainer, on September 2 after selling illegal drugs to an undercover agent.

Confiscated from Catbagan and his girlfriend are P105,000 worth of shabu and assorted drug paraphernalia by joint elements from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Cordillera Administrative Region (PDEA-CAR) and Baguio Special Enforcement Team (RSET), Baguio City Police Office (BCPO) Station 4, Crisis Intervention Team-Regional Investigation Unit -14 (CIT- RIU) Baguio, Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG)-Baguio, Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU), Regional DEU and Mobile Patrol Unit (MPU).

PDEA said the suspects were placed under surveillance prior to their arrest after reports that the individuals were allegedly catering illegal drugs to bar entertainers in Baguio City.

In another operation, an alleged lady drug runner identified as "Esmeralda" was nabbed September 4 in Cresencia Village for selling P4,500 worth of shabu to anti-narcotics operative from PDEA-Baguio and Benguet, RSET and BCPO Station 2.

PDEA added the operation was conducted after the arrest of Catbagan. (SunStar Baguio)
