P13-M marijuana seized in Kalinga

KALINGA police operatives arrested four individuals in an operation that led to the seizure of over P13 million worth of marijuana in Kalinga recently.

Areested were Augusto Formales Galicia, 39, of Antipolo City; Eduardo Libao Patiga, 39, of Makati City; Wenceslao Formales Galicia, 24, of Antipolo City; and John Benedick Esperito Camia, 22, of Anabo, Imus, Cavite.

The suspects were arrested during a joint operation conducted by Tabuk City Police Station led by Police Lieutenant Colonel Radino Belly, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Kalinga under the supervision of Kalinga Provincial Police Office Director Colonel Davy Vicente Limmong, together with the Kalinga-Provincial EOD Canine Unit, Criminal Investigation and Detection Group and other law enforcement agencies.

Operatives confiscated 112 marijuana bricks that weigh 112 kilos and worth P13,440,000.

Cases for violation of Republic Act 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, have been prepared against the suspects. (Jonathan Llanes)
