SOME 200 grams of suspected “shabu” (methamphetamine hydrochloride) were confiscated in a drug bust on Thursday evening, April 30, in Catlubong, Buguias, Benguet.
Joint operatives from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Cordillera (PDEA-CAR), Buguias Municipal Police Station (MPS), Benguet Provincial Mobil Force Command (PMFC) and PDEA-Benguet arrested Marson Bayas Ballusong in Dontog, Catlubong for selling illegal drugs.
Confiscated during the operation was a small heat-sealed plastic sachet of suspected shabu with an estimated weight of 0.4 grams and estimated street value of P1,000 with another 200 grams with an estimated street value of P1,360,000 and several drug paraphernalia were also confiscated by authorities from the Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU), Regional Intelligence Division (RID) of the Police Regional Office – Cordillera (PRO-COR), and the Regional Intelligence Unit.
The suspect, according to police reports is included in the regional top ten personalities on illegal drugs.
Ballusong was brought to Buguias MPS and a case for violation of Article II, section 5, 11 and 12 of RA 9165 is being prepared. (SunStar Baguio)
