Same restrictions apply for MGCQ status

THE Baguio City Police Office (BCPO) will continue to implement existing guidelines even if President Rodrigo Duterte has placed Baguio City under modified general community quarantine (MGCQ).

Police Colonel Allen Rae Co, BCPO City Director said existing guidelines under the MGCQ as prescribed by the Inter Agency Task Force on emerging disease (IATF) will be implemented.

“Our contingency measures are in place as we advise the residents to abide by the guidelines,” Co said.

The Summer Capital underwent enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) together with other local government units in Luzon in March as a measure to prevent the spread of coronavirus and shifted to general community quarantine (GCQ) on May 16.

Under the MGCQ, the movement of people is still limited while those allowed go out are for the conduct of securing essential services and to go to work.

Workers of ‘indispensable’ businesses are given exemptions or are mandated to present their certificates of employment when traveling for work.

“We inform the public that people coming into the city are strictly advised to undergo triage procedures before proceeding to their business in the city. All boarders will still have the established checkpoints as part of the contingency measure of our city in relation to the non-spreading of the coronavirus,” Co added.
