Chacapna: Graft in public Schools (Part 2)

TONY decided to meet with the principal, but on second thought, refused to do so, since the principal is the chairman of the honor committee. So he appealed the matter to Father Bong - the parish priest. The priest thinking that he has to act independently and should not influence the decision of the committee, because doing it may set off strange relations with any faculty or the principal of the school, has advised Tony to leave the matter alone. It is better to sacrifice one than to injure the majority, he taught. But it was not, as easy as it was, for Tony cannot get over, instantly from what he had perceived as inequality. And so Father Bong after evaluating Tony’s emotion began voicing short advices to uplift his dampened emotion. So he said: Tony, I’m sure you know that there is no perfect object or perfect world. Even the mighty creator shaped all living and non-living formations, with impurities. Life would be easier if we just look at how things or events go, as it was being molded or handled by the players.

Very few creations were gifted with that kind of understanding. That ten percent object has been created with a purpose – to limit your ability, just like the rest of us. Imagine if we keep on exercising our ability, perfect all the things in accordance to what we planned, what would be left for others? Someone, so powerful must have to tilt that fulcrum in the balance of machinery - to create inequality and avoid perfections. Someone out there must take the role of spawning: Dishonesty, Envy, Misunderstanding, Offenses, Nonchalance and Senselessness. Take all the first letter of what I enumerated I’m sure you will know what I mean. It will be better to assume the role of watching inequality rather than become the performers.

Every word of the priest have reverberated in Tony’s ears as if, these were the finest musical tunes pleasant to hear and will make that heavy heart, lighter for a moment. But there was just one query Tony would like to ask from the priest. So he said: what if, I decided not to become the watcher and instead I will become the stopper of inequality? The priest answered: you can have that choice, but look at that special snail in the pond. The snail was so patient to bend its neck and swallow whatever succulent decomposing objects floating in the water, was so clever to hide from any swimming voracious predators, so that when the time comes for any of them to devour its body, its shell will be like the toughest rock deserving to be spewed out in the fresh running water.

Now Tony, if you want to become someone just like the snail, just ignore that honor roll melee. That was so tiny compared to the size of that brighter future ahead. Do not be blinded by the lust for power, suddenly taken without effort, for in life the most rewarding is to take it slowly, bit by bit in its fresh or rolling shape. The rule is to avoid sacrifices, endure pain and take pleasures or happiness in all your actions devoted with a purpose, regardless of how large or small that purpose may be. Arm yourself with knowledge and extra ordinary skills. Tony was so amazed at how the priest utters the words of wisdom. Unknown that he will be in public service, Tony’s destiny has now been set.
