Chacapna: Rise of the DepEd mafia, Lilian’s case and the egotists (part four)

THE DepEd (Department of Education) mafia has breached the regional level. It happened, not without warning. While the angels in the mountainous city are diligently educating the not so hard-headed households, some of them are busy tempting the souls of the arrogant and pompous.

If Shakespeare is alive, he must have called out: Oh power, when do souls keep its exercise upright!

Before the elated mafias story turn round, let me congratulate Leonardo in the region: you broke the lowly paid teacher’s tradition of paying “send-off celebrations” to promoted superiors. Nice shot.

By the way, I look forward at that wine you seem to pour. No worries, my old wheels broke, so I can take that shot over the moon.

I never came by in the mass celebration, the haughty angels might be uncomfortable with my presence and the priest’s holy water will not be enough to burn all visible horns, including mine, if there is! There must be someone left below to rehearse how fair or unfair things turn out.

So when the superior says that today is “carless” in school, you have to abide, for environments sake. But it looks as if the sports utility vehicle of Principal Brenda and some favored heads in the mountainous city are exempted. So what does that mean? Roughly, that order is for the ordinary cars and lowly employees only, not for the branded and mighty.

Again what happens to the scout motto? The ancient anchor may possibly pronounce: “mamatpati ngay kenka, sika met haan mangsurot”. These words need the best translations.

And now the mafia in the mountainous region asks who Lillian is? It came to my one sided ear that she was a good principal in two public schools. And arriving at her first school, the unpaid electrical and water bills amounting to hundreds of thousands greeted her. What a nice salutation!

Unknowingly, that salutation which she has tried to resolve gave her sleepless nights and anxieties she never deserved. She was slap with administrative charges by the PTA head for merely solving unpaid debts.

But given her dedication to answer disputes in a civilly manner, she successfully resolved it at the division level. At last, she can now relax.

But a fictional lawyer “Van” in the mountainous region, which I cannot gauge if appropriately referred as “he” or “she” tried to wake up the living from the dead.

The “res judicata (rest in peace) and forum shopping (favoured setting)”, which is supposed to be a norm and applied at a time when the sword of the blind lady gave it luckily, are of nowhere.

Alas, the words “not to do injustice to anyone” are no longer that oath.

Administrative laws can now be twisted to favor the lucky few and harass the unfortunate many. Even minuscule unpleasant words spoken to a learner for disciplinary purposes can be ripened to a serious case in that region.

And what do academe thought of Director “Maybe” from faraway land, except that her actions were branded as anti-local, anti-natives, and other anti-words.

To be continued...
