MORE than 1,000 local job vacancies will be featured at job fairs in Baguio City and Tabuk City, Kalinga on June 12, Independence Day, the Department of Labor and Employment–Cordillera Administrative Region (DOLE-CAR) said Tuesday.
In an interview, Patrick Rillorta, information officer of DOLE-CAR, said both events are in partnership with the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) of the two cities.
There will be 754 vacancies for the Baguio job fair at SM City and 303 at Tabuk city gymnasium.
Some of the country's top companies will participate in the two events, among them Homeworld Shopping Corportation or SM Home, SM Supermarket, Jollibee, McDonalds, Mang Inasal, Ace Hardware, and K Servico Trade Inc.
Rillorta advised applicants to bring multiple copies of application documents to allow them to apply for as many jobs as possible.
"Come in proper attire because it also matters when applying," he said.
Social Security System, Pag-IBIG, PhilHealth, National Bureau of Investigation, Philippine Statistics Authority and Technical Education and Skills Development Authority desks will be present in the two events for applicants who may need official documents.
Citing official data, Rillorta said 80 applicants were hired on the spot during the Labor Day job fair in Baguio City on May 1, while 26 others were eventually hired.
He said CAR's top job generators are in the customer service, production and sales industries.
Meanwhile, most available jobs in the region are in the information technology – business process management, manufacturing and retail trade sectors. (PNA)
