FATHER and son tandem Carlos and Iñigo Anton proved they are a force to be reckoned with in the race track.

The Castrol-Yokohama backed father and son tandem impressed their respective opponents during the recently concluded Petron Race of Champions round 1 held at the Subic Le mans track.

Onboard his trusty Mark Young-Mohspeed prepared Honda EF, 13–year–old Iñigo set two lap records for the event, topping the Super Battle time sheets with a time of 28.52 seconds then for the “Future Champions” race onboard a Kia Picanto setting an unbeatable 32.6 seconds in complete darkness.

Carlos took home the Front Wheel Open category in the Super Battle event with a time of 28.7 and won the “Present Champions category” race over top Drifters Auden Sison and John Boban.

“Inigo and I had so much fun in this event because we had to set times against other champions all using the same car. I’m glad we came out on top because it was really tough,” Carlos said of the race organized by legendary racing champion Mike Potenciano.

Junior drivers Marky Dave Young, at only 12 and the youngest in the field, and Romina Young, (15) both won 3rd place in their respective divisions.

Team Principal Mark Young checked in 2nd in his category and team manager Jason Young was quickest of them all in the Arrive and drive Class.

“The team did really well today and with the new breed of racers we have, I think the team will continue to be a force to reckon with in Philippine racing,” Mark Young said.

The team is backed by Castrol, Yokohama, Mohspeed, Special Stage, JSD Autosport, Parts Pro, Works Bell, Kilton, Kart Plaza, and Edgesport. (Roderick Osis)
