TWO persons were arrested while seven minors, one female, and six males, were rescued from online sexual exploitation during an entrapment operation in Barangay Tipanoy, Iligan City.
Authorities arrested a certain Rosila and her live-in partner, Jay-Jay, both of whom are residents in the said barangay.
One of the children is the biological child of the arrested suspects, while the rest are their relatives.
According to the police, the suspects allegedly exploited these children by engaging them in explicit activities and distributing the content to foreign individuals via online platforms.
Recovered during the entrapment operation were seven mobile phones with chargers, one Wi-Fi router, one USB flash drive, and drug-related paraphernalia, including a rectangular transparent plastic sachet containing shabu, two plastic sachets with residue, three aluminum foil, five aluminum tooters, and two green disposable lighters.
The rescued children were brought to the CSWD Children's Assessment and Processing Center for after-care.
The suspects will face multiple charges under Anti-Online Sexual Abuse or Exploitation of Children and Anti-Child Sexual Abuse of Exploitation Materials Act, Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act, and Expanded Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2022.
