Bloggers’ new friend: Starpod

A NEW website that caters to professional and new generation of bloggers, vloggers, and influencers was officially launched in Cagayan de Oro City during the final day of the biggest blogger convention in Mindanao, CDO Blog Con 2019.

The Starpod, according to its founder and CEO Arvin Chavez Dimate, is a media and talents network wherein “the site or the app will connect media talents and the brands.

Dimate said business owners or clients will have no need to undergo time consuming research or a third party to look for the right people or blogger to talk about them as they will only need to fill up the form provided in the website and then the PR goes to the media or blogger.

“The purpose of that is to connect brands, agencies to the bloggers. Ang challenge sa brand is to get the right people or the right bloggers to talk about you,” he said.

“Sometimes you need to do the research pa, isa-isahin mo pa lahat (you have to look at it individually). Sa Starpod nandoon na lahat (it has everything). Just key in the keyword,” Dimate said.

The profile and statistics of the bloggers can be seen in the website, starpod.ph, for clients to review.

The website can be accessed by clients nationally and even globally, Dimate said.

Starpod, he added, is not just for professional bloggers, vloggers and influencers. The network is also open to all new generation or budding bloggers.

“In Starpod, we want to build a community wherein itong mga (these) professionals will help the young generation... We need to help each one to create good content and to be responsible media,” Dimate said.

“[This is] to massively promote online media and to help the new generation fully understand what this industry is,” he added.

On the same day of the launching, the winners for the blogging and vlogging contest was awarded.

Pearly Jane Cabudoy of CDO Bloggers won the grand prize, followed by Maia Plobete of CDO Bloggers in first place, Joan Sheng of CDO Bloggers in second place, Team Conato PH in third place, SquadiLogues PH in fourth place, and Ton Escol in fifth place.

Escol also won in the Vivo V15PRO Mobile Photography Challenge, while Angela Estera won the Cebu Pacific contest: Ceb Make Moments Happen-Vlog Challenge.

CDO Blog Con 2019: “Shaping the Era of the New Media” is the first and biggest blog convention that connects bloggers, vloggers and influencers of Northern Mindanao to various business owners, brands and companies.

Successfully ended last April 13, the event aimed to gather, strengthen and develop the blogging community in Cagayan de Oro and to provide the right knowledge, skills and tools needed by aspiring bloggers to jumpstart a career in the blogging industry.
