Bonbon beauty crowned as Miss Cagayan de Oro 2020

JEZA Chrystil Relevo, representing Barangay Bonbon, was crowned as the Miss Cagayan de Oro 2020 in the first virtual coronation night last Thursday, August 27.

Relevo landed in the top 3 spot after she won several corporate awards such as Miss Globe, Miss Beautywise, and Miss Mags; and special awards such as Best in Swimwear and Best in Evening Gown.

All of the eight candidates' swimwear were furnished by The SM Store and their evening gowns were designed by the Oro Fashion Designers Guild.

During the virtual coronation night, each candidates were provided with Covid-19 phrases and the ladies gave their insights.

For Relevo, her phrase was "medical frontliners."

"From an outbreak to an epidemic and now pandemic. Covid-19 has shook the world. The only hope that we have lies on the medical frontliners. This pandemic teaches us a lesson on how to acknowledge and value someone's knowledge, wisdom and expertise because we cannot acquire complete healing without the most important hope that we had through the medical frontliners," Relevo said.

Meanwhile, in the question and answer segment, the question posed to Relevo was "What is the biggest challenge we need to address in our fight against Covid-19?"

Relevo cited the people's struggles as they adapt to the new normal and how they overcame the difficulty brought by the process of dealing with the pandemic.

"We are struggling because everything is new for us, but with the help of those people who guided us especially our family, we were able to live our lives to the fullest not considering and not thinking that it has been a long time with this virus and we overcome it," Relevo said.

Together with her on the top 3 spot are Danielle Arceo of Barangay Nazareth, the Miss Cagayan de Oro 2020 First Runner-up; and Tanya Salvacion of Barangay Bugo, the Miss Cagayan de Oro 2020 Second Runner-up.

Arceo has received most of the pageant's corporate awards such as Face of Le Rouge, Edgardo Palad Artist Choice Award, Miss Casino Ethyl Alcohol, Miss Ororama, Miss Peak Review Center, Miss Eduardo Diego, Miss Kotex, and Miss Premea.
