IN LINE with the Pride Month celebration, the City Government of Cagayan de Oro opened a photo exhibit on June 20, 2023 at the Ayala Centrio Mall to promote public awareness on LGBTQ+ discrimination.

The photo exhibit, "#HowInequalityLooksLike," features photographs and various stories of members of the LGBTQ+ community who have experienced discrimination in schools, offices, public areas and in their homes.

It also aims to combat discrimination against members of the LGBTQ+ community and understand the significance of passing the Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity and Gender Expression (Sogie) Equality Bill.

Leading the ribbon cutting was City Gender and Development Focal Point System represented by lawyer Melanie Cabanlas and Remy Labiano.

Also present during the event were the representatives of the Philippine Commission on Women and different LGBTQ+ organizations, such as SOGIEFy, GAD, Mujer-LGBT Organization Inc., Kahilwayan 2023, and Mindanao Pride.

The #HowInequalityLooksLike Photo Exhibit will run until June 30.
