TO BE an artist is not just a gift but it requires hard work.

Psalms Music Lab along with their 200 students successfully achieved their goal for this year’s Summer Camp Program. All those days of practice and learning paid off during the “Student’s Recital 2019” on June 1 held at Limketkai Rotunda and June 2 at Centrio Ayala Mall, Cagayan de Oro City.

Most of the students were beginners, however, in a span of two months they have confidently showcased their breathtaking voice, classical pieces in piano, guitar, violin, ukelele and drums during the recital. All of them, including the teachers, have worked so hard to learn and enjoy at the same time.

The Summer Camp Program starts every March and ends with a recital every June. This program has 25 sessions.

According to Jordan Christopher Emata, a piano teacher and the owner of Psalm Music Lab, the summer camp is an acceleration program designed for short term music education wherein the students will be taught one-on-one in a span of two months.

Psalms Music Lab believes that music plays a vital role in enhancing creativity, learning, memory and social skills of their students.

Darrell Jean Emata, manager of Psalms, said that their music studio is a unique venue to give children the opportunity to develop their talents, skills and confidence in being an artist.

When asked for her message to aspiring musicians, Emata said that true talent is expressed through the sheer joy of doing it not praise.

“When you express your talent you build joy, you can feel the fulfillment in yourself. You see, happiness comes through you,” she added.

The teachers behind every talented persons enrolled in Psalms especially in the development of their piano instruments are Jojo Malferrari, Jose Bernabe Malferrari, Rojas, Claire Riza Lagremas and Elpidio Badana while voice teachers are Benjamin Santos, Alex Suan, and Ralph Ramos.

Psalms ensured that their students don’t just learn instruments or enhance the quality of their voice but also to enjoy, build camaraderie and create connections.
