12 PUIs at NMMC await Covid-19 test results

THE number of patients under investigation (PUIs) for coronavirus disease (Covid-19) and who have been admitted at the Northern Mindanao Medical Center (NMMC) as of Saturday, March 21, is 12, one of which is in a critical condition, chief of hospital Dr. Jose Chan said.

Chan said throat swabs have already been taken from the patients, but they have not yet been delivered to the Research Institute of Tropical Medicine (RITM).

"Kini silang tanan gikuhaan nato og throat swab para mapadala anytime sa asa nga testing center for confirmatory test," Chan said.

City Health Office Public Health Technical Division head Dr. Claire Azura-Pagunawan said they have recorded a total of 579 persons under monitoring (PUMs) (cumulative) in the city, with 132 of them finished their 14-day quarantine.

Pagunawan said 447 PUMs are still on home quarantine.

Meanwhile, the City Health Office is continuing its information drive on Covid-19 in the barangay level and the monitoring of surveillance of PUMs in Cagayan de Oro.
