15 Northern Mindanao cops dismissed

THE Police Regional Office (PRO)-Northern Mindanao is continuing its efforts to cleanse its rank from scalawags and “bad eggs” in the organization.

Superintendent Surki Serenas, PRO-Northern Mindanao spokesperson, said a total of 15 policemen were booted out from the police service since last year.

Serenas said the last dismissal order was served last August 14.

Data showed that of the 15, seven were from Bukidnon; three in Cagayan de Oro City; one each in Iligan City and Misamis Oriental; three in Misamis Occidental; and none in Lanao del Norte and Camiguin province.

Serenas decline to name the dismissed personnel but he said majority were police officer 1 (PO1), a senior police officer 1 (SPO1) and a non-uniformed personnel.

“On out internal cleansing campaign, records show that we have 15 cases investigated. All of them were dismissed from the PNP service,”Serenas said.

Serenas said these erring policemen were dismissed for various offenses but about 35 to 40 percent is related to illegal drug activities while the rest were charged for other criminal offenses.

“We at PRO-10 fully supports the internal cleansing campaign of PNP Chief Dir. General Oscar Albayalde and share with the commitment of our regional director Chief Superintendent Timoteo Pacleb to weed out scalawags and undesirables within our ranks,” Serenas said.

“The dismissal of these personnel has given credence to the campaign and sincerity to fulfill our commitment,” he added.
