POLICE anti-narcotics operatives have killed two drug suspects in a shootout during separate anti-illegal drug operations in Misamis Oriental over the weekend.
Authorities identified the slain drug suspects as Arman Recometa, 35, resident of Quezon, Balingasag; and Cyber Ebon, of Bugo, Cagayan de Oro City.
Investigation disclosed that police were carrying out a buy-bust operation against Recometa last Saturday, August 4, but it resulted in a shootout after the suspect allegedly fought back.
The suspect was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
Seized were three sachets of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride, known as shabu, and a revolver with ammunition.
On the other hand, Ebon was killed by the authorities in Jasaan town early Monday, August 6, after he allegedly fought back with the operatives.
He sustained gunshot wound and was brought to the hospital but declared dead shortly.
Police recovered sachets of suspected shabu, a revolver and bullets.
