29 Kagay-anons contract coronavirus

THE Cagayan de Oro City Health Office on Saturday, February 6, 2021, reported 29 city residents who tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

This brought the total number of confirmed cases in the city to 3,422.

Acting City Health Officer Dr. Lorraine Nery said six of the 29 new local cases are close contacts of previously confirmed cases, four are authorized persons outside residence (Apors), 18 are local index cases, and a person deprived of liberty.

Of the 3,422 total Covid-19 cases in the city, 421 are under the returning overseas Filipino workers/locally stranded individuals (ROFs/LSIs) category and 3,001 cases are local transmissions.

According to Nery, the 3,001 local cases consist of 186 PDLs, 1,530 local index cases and 1,285 local cases with link.

Cagayan de Oro has recorded 272 active cases, 64 of whom are admitted to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center and other hospitals in the city, 205 outpatients, and three are ROFs/LSIs.

The city also registered six new coronavirus-positive persons who are now tagged as "recovered," bringing the total number of recoveries in Cagayan de Oro to 2,975.

Of the figure, 300 are LSIs, 117 are ROFs, and 2,558 are local cases (community: 2,159; Apors: 399).

The number of Covid-19 deaths in the city is at 175.
