Almost 400,000 Covid-19 vaccines arrive in Cagayan de Oro

CAGAYAN de Oro City Mayor Oscar Moreno said that close to 400,000 Covid-19 vaccines have arrived in the city on Monday, July 19.

The almost 400,000 is composed of different Covid-19 vaccine brands, including the around 20,600 Johnson & Johnson vaccines that the City has already started giving to the vaccinees on Tuesday, July 20.

"Kagahapon niabot ang close to 400,000 nga vaccines, lain-lain ang mga bakuna, naay Johnson & Johnson. In fact, nagsugod na ta og inject sa Johnson & Johnson," Moreno said during the city's daily press briefing Tuesday.

He said the Johnson & Johnson vaccines are intended for senior citizens and persons with comorbidities, especially those who are bedridden and non-ambulant patients.

Meanwhile, Cagayan de Oro will be starting its vaccination rollout for the A1 group consisting of immediate family members of the frontline healthcare workers.

The mayor said their vaccination sites are in health centers or hospitals.

"Walay problema diha basta ang ako, panghatag na, ayaw na'g dugaya. Panghatag na kay ang mga pamilya sa mga health workers are equally exposed. Di na dugay-dugayon," Moreno said.

As for the inmates or persons deprived of liberty, Moreno said that Department of Health Regional Director Jose Llacuna has given the signal to begin their vaccination rollout.
