THE Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (Cocpo) has reminded the public to follow protocols and guidelines set by the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) to avoid sanctions under the general community quarantine (GCQ) guidelines.

Cocpo spokesperson reported Wednesday, May 20, that around 54 persons are facing charges for violation of curfew in the city. Police have a running total of 3,019 curfew violators.

Police also charged 20 individuals for violating the "no face mask" and barangay exit pass policy. So far, there were already 446 violators recorded for not wearing face mask and not bringing their BEPs.

The city police have also visited 3,445 establishments to ensure that social distancing measures are observed, while around 9,000 PUJ/PUV drivers were being reprimanded.

Meanwhile, Cocpo spokesperson Major Evan Vinas reported that out of 296 persons apprehended for liquor ban violation, 196 were charged in court, while others were issued with Ordinance Violation Receipt (OVR).

"On group dispersal, there are 7,493 individuals. Mao ni kanang gatapok-tapok nga nag-disregard sa social distancing," Vinas said.

Vinas said the period covered for these figures is from March 16.

"I'm reminding the general public to follow the guidelines. Do not be complacent because the virus is still there," he added.
