Capitol set to give cooperatives financial aid

THE Provincial Government of Misamis Oriental is set to financially aid some 40 cooperatives in the province as the capitol opens the cooperative month celebration this week.

Governor Yevgeny Emano said his administration strongly supports cooperativism which resulted to the registration of 40 cooperatives in the province before the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

Emano said he has learned that cooperatives owned big business establishments in other countries.

The cooperative month celebration has the theme "Cooperatives: Partners for building resilient and empowered communities towards a better and stronger Philippines."

The opening ceremony at the capitol grounds over the weekend was attended by 88 cooperative groups. The gathering aims to improve cooperativism in the province.

Some of the activities for the month-long celebration include bloodletting drive and search for cooperative ambassadress.

Cooperativism is one of the pillars of the tourism program of the governor.
