City Finance says Special Ayuda team not robbed

THE City Finance Department has clarified that the report about the Special Ayuda distribution team being robbed is not true.

In a press statement provided by the City Information Office, the City Finance Department said that the cashier of the Special Ayuda was not robbed during the payout in Sitio, Midkiwan in Barangay Bayanga, Cagayan de Oro.

According to Judith Paasa, the team leader of Special Ayuda distribution team in Barangay Bayanga, a man asked for money from the cashier so he can buy cigarettes while the team was taking shelter in a household due to the rain.

The statement added that the cashier, who is a Roads and Traffic Administration (RTA) worker, gave the man P200 from his own pocket.

Paasa assured that the Special Ayuda cash payout was untouched.

Meanwhile, 17 barangays received cash assistance from the Department of Social Welfare and Development through the city's house-to-house distribution of ECQ Special Ayuda.

The 17 barangays include the hinterland areas, namely: Barangays Bayanga, San Simon, Baikingon, Besigan, Pigsag-an, Taglimao, Pagalungan, Tuburan, Dansolihon, Tignapoloan, Tumpagon, and Tagpangi.
