THE first day of "Simbang Gabi" in Cagayan de Oro City was generally peaceful and orderly, Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (Cocpo) spokesperson Major Evan Viñas said Wednesday, December 16.

Viñas said the church leaders' response regarding the measures of the police to regulate the crowd during Simbang Gabi, which include imposing one entrance and exit points, is good.

Viñas assured that Cocpo personnel are always in the vicinity of the churches in the city to ensure the security of the church goers and that health protocols are observed.

The Cocpo spokesperson also reminded the public, particularly the parents, that children under 15 years old are still not allowed to go out of their homes. The same could be said for people above 65 years old.
