Covid-19 cases in Northern Mindanao climb to 79

EIGHT new coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases were added to the list of confirmed cases in Northern Mindanao on Monday, June 22, bringing the total count to 79.

According to the Department of Health Center for Health Development-Northern Mindanao's (DOH CHDNM's) Covid-19 briefer, of the eight new confirmed cases, six are in Misamis Occidental, one in Misamis Oriental and one in Lanao del Norte.

All of the eight new cases are returning overseas Filipinos workers (OFWs) and locally stranded individuals (LSIs).

As of June 22, the total suspect cases recorded is at 1,563, in which 1,467 were alive and 1,272 were RT-PCR negative. All 96 deaths involving suspect cases were also RT-PCR negative.

Meanwhile, from March 30 to June 22, the Cagayan de Oro City's Emergency Operations Center recorded a total of 3,124 new arrivals.

Emergency Operations Center head Dr. Lorraine Nery said of the 3,124 new arrivals, 1,301 are still on their 14-day quarantine, 1,706 have completed their quarantine period, and 117 are due on June 23.

They were also able to record a total of 1,180 close contacts of Covid-19 suspects and confirmed cases, wherein 127 are still ongoing their quarantine in the city isolation units and at their homes.
