Darimbang joins Oro mayoral race

MAYORAL candidate Lourdes Candy Darimbang confirmed Tuesday the supposed coalition of Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) with the Padayon Pilipino and Centrist Democratic Party (CDP) did not work out due to miscommunication.

Darimbang filed her certificate of candidacy (COC) together with some members of the PFP slate on Tuesday, October 16.

However, Darimbang refused to elaborate the “miscommunication” issue.

She said the Padayon Pilipino and the CDP leaders offered her to bid for a congressional seat in the city's first district.

But, she maintained she is no longer considering running for congress but instead she is seeking for either of the two top posts of the city.

The former city councilor said there was even a last minute negotiation before she filed her COC but still, it failed.

“Wala nami nagka istorya after nila Mayor Dongkoy and Cong. Rufus after sa last meeting namo,” Darimbang said.

“The coalition bogged down that resulted to our breakaway from the coalition but we don’t know in the next weeks there might be some changes,” she added.

Darimbang said she was disappointed because the Padayon Pilipino and the CDP had picked another running mate for the coalition's likely bet for mayor Jose Gabriel “Pompee” La Viña.

“Si Pompee nagduol sa ako nga modagan pagka-mayor pero nag impose siya nga he will have his vice mayor siya ang nagbuot kung kinsa iyang running mate,” Darimbang said.

“We are a coalition party dapat naay equal distribution of candidates,” she added.
