DSWD-Northern Mindanao continues to provide cash aid to MAA renters

THE Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office 10, in its continued effort to provide assistance to the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) of the Marawi siege, continues to provide cash assistance to families and individuals who are renters from the Most Affected Areas (MAAs) in Marawi City.

Implemented under the Bangon Marawi Comprehensive Rehabilitation and Recovery Program (BMCRRP), DSWD Field Office 10 released the Transitory Family Support Package (TFSP) with a cash grant amounting to P35,000 and a bag of Taiwan Rice to renters of MAA areas.

As of March 3, a total of 2,488 out of 3,707 residents and business renters in Barangays Banggolo Poblacion, Bubong Lilod Madaya, Daguduban, Dansalan, Kapantaran, Datu sa Dansalan, Datu Naga, Lumbac, Lumbaca Madaya, Marinaut East. Marinaut West, Moncado Colony, Moncado Kadingilan, and Wawalayan Marinaut have received the TFSP.

DSWD will distribute the TFSP to 3,707 renter families from MAA who are profiled through Kathanor (Maranao term for organization), profiling of internally displaced persons spearheaded by Task Force Bangon Marawi (TFBM).

Today, a total of 626 out of 746 renters from Norhaya Village, Raya Madaya 1, Raya Madaya 2, Sabala Manao, and Sangcay Dansalan have received the TFSP worth P35,000 from the DSWD.

Unlike the distribution of TFSP to homeowners of MAA and returned barangays, the biometric system is not being utilized for the distribution of assistance for the renters.

DSWD Field Office 10 Regional Director Mari-Flor Dollaga-Libang said there are additional documents that are required to ensure that the legitimate beneficiaries will receive the assistance.

The 12th Civil-Military Operations Battalion and 82nd Infantry Battalion of the Philippine Army, TFBM Field Office, and the Marawi City Social Welfare and Development Office provided support to the overall process of the distribution.

DSWD also gave 30 kilos of rice to the profiled renters. The rice was donated by the Taiwan government through World Vision. (PR)
