PAMPANGA Representative Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo and Cagayan de Oro City Mayor Vicente Emano met at a hotel in Cagayan de Oro City over the weekend to talk politics, among others.
Emano's close ally and opposition councilor Leon Gan said it was Arroyo who wanted to see Emano.
"Gusto makigkita si GMA kang Mayor Emano gani nagplano siya nga moadto mismo sa balay pero kay ulan-ulan man, ako na lang ang nag-arrange nga magkita sa hotel (GMA wanted to see Mayor Emano. She even wanted to go to the house but it was raining, so I arranged for them to meet at a hotel)," Gan said.
Gan said the meeting, which was also attended by former city first district Representative Benjo Benaldo, lasted for more than an hour.
Gan declined to disclose what was discussed apart from saying that the two leaders renewed support for in their respective political endeavors.
Gan said Arroyo vowed to back Emano should he bid for the mayoralty in next year's polls.
Gan said Arroyo has joined President Rodrigo Duterte, so there will be no conflict of the two working together as Emano also supports the present administration.
