Guv: MisOr Cares suspended

MISAMIS Oriental Governor Yevgeny Emano confirmed Monday, July 29, that the operation of Misamis Oriental Care System (MisOr Cares) is now suspended, while the unfinished projects in the different towns will have to be completed through the "Barangay Bambi" before his last term ends in 2022.

Emano said the Provincial Government will study the role of MisOr Cares under the Universal Health Care (UHC) to ensure that the National Government's health care program will not be duplicated in the province.

At present, MisOr Cares no longer cater to people asking for assistance. However, they are referred to their respective local government unit (LGU) or the Provincial Social Welfare and Development (PSWD) office.

"Naa may LGU. Naa man pud atong PSWD. Kung naay mangayo og assistance, we have PSWD," Emano said.

He said he has heard that the people are calling for the resumption of the operation of MisOr Cares. But he appealed to the public that they be given time to look into the role of MisOr Cares under the UHC.

"Give us time kung dili ba nato ma-duplicate ang UHC kay I also believe the UHC program of President Duterte," Emano said.

Emano said Misamis Oriental is the pilot province of UHC.

Meanwhile, the Provincial Government is set to finish the projects in the barangays through the "Barangay Bambi" program.

"Naa nako sa akong last term, nabalaka ko nga ang uban projects kung mahinay pagtrabaho sa kapitan, mahuman na lang akong term, dili pa mahuman ang project, busa atong tiwason dli buot ma-stop ang Barangay Bambi," Emano said.
